David Cameron has launched our Local Election campaign, with the message:
"Vote blue, go green - and save money."
David stressed, "These elections really matter," and highlighted how Conservative councils deliver better services and better value for money.
Our launch document gives examples of how Conservative councils are making the country greener, cleaner and safer.
David said, "This election is a chance to vote for change and to send a message to this failing Labour Government."
Right across the country the Conservatives are making gain on the Labour Party.
On May 1st 2008 make sure you make the most of your vote?
Vote Blue Go Green and Save Money Vote Conservative.

The Tories are putting up more candidates in the North West than Labour, meaning 95% of voters will have the opportunity to vote Conservative on 1st May.
I've heard that too, and let's hope our leader of Trafford council is proven right when she predicts we'll oust at least another 70 assorted Labour and Lib Dem ragbags from office in the North West on 1st May.
We are running more vigorous campaigns than ever and exposing more and more Labour and Lib Dem lies and double standards by the day.
In some areas Labour are really scraping the bottom of the barrel to find candidates, things are really that bad for them.

I doubt that the Tories will gain 70 councillors though. It will all shift around in having Labour to Lib Dem and Lib Dem to Labour. We can all dream.
I would like to see an extra three tories on Tameside Council this year. Tameside is a Conservative area, it is not a "write off" as someone put it on another blog. If the Tories put in some considerable effort, we could have overall control of Tameside within eight years.
What is certainly interesting is Labour chopping and changing and labeling themselves as "Co-Op" in a bid to differintiate themselves nationally. Well Ed "Lulzy" Balls is Co-Op and what does that tell you? Anyway, my point is, Labour are on thin grounds here as Labour Co-Op is classed as a different party, so what happens when TMBC is split between having say 20 Conservatives (a possibility in a few years IMO), 3 Independents and then you have a split between Labour and Labour Co-Op. The council could go into NoC if Tameside Labour are not careful. And yes I know that they still will vote together.
One who knows,
I believe you may well be right, certainly in places like Pendle, we could see Lib Dems losing to Labour in some urban wards in Nelson. In one particular semi-rural ward (Pendle's biggest) we are potentially looking at ousting two Lib Dems. There is a real chance that Pendle may go NOC this year after 10 years of smoke and mirrors from the Lib Dems.
I hope you gain seats in Tameside this year, I'd particularly like to see Paul Buckley and Stacey Knighton rewarded by the voters for all the hard work they put in on a year-round basis in their respective wards. I also agree when you say Tameside could be Conservative run within eight years if the borough is worked hard enough.
From my own perspective Labour and Labour/Co-Op are two sides of the same coin and equally as bad as each other. You might be interested to know that Labour members are standing in Pendle's Town Council elections as "Independents." Voter confusion will be rife, although some in Pendle Conservatives have seen right through this and have exposed this nonsense on the web.
A number of Labour councillors have branded themselves "Co-Op" down the years. Charlie Meredith was one. But it makes no difference they're the same party. It's a bit like the difference between Joy Division and New Order, except without the suicidal lead man, although...
